Live broadcasting on the web!! How exciting!

My friend’s studio, For Your Imagination (aka, FYI), added a new exciting web series to their portfolio, in addition to their other interesting online shows. This past week’s guest was Ari Hest and he presented a nice performance at the FYI studio’s relaxing and intimate setting. I was just sitting there, watching him sing his latest song with his guitar.

It was exciting to witness what they were doing. It is live. It is music. It’s an online broadcasting show. Wow! What does that mean? Does this mean that I too can create my own television station that can broadcast live shows and become famous? Yum. Are you interested?

Maybe. But that may not come that easy. There are several road blocks to your fame and fortune, unfortunately. They were using www.mogulus.com platform in order to push their video content out to the world online. Deborah from Mogulus told me that only about five thousands can watch a show at the same time on the entire platform. Moguls is one of the limited number of companies that are doing this unique live platform and they are increasing the number of simultaneous viewers. Though it’s increasing, the number would not become a million overnight.

That means, you are gonna be famous only to thousands at the same time. And let’s think about it. How can you promote the fabulousness of your show? There might be thousands other fame seekers lurking around the online world, screaming for attention.  How can you fix their faces to focus on your stuff? How about all the cost of creating the meat and sauce and the buzz? Ahhh. Big challenge!!

But I want to see more like this coming. Who knows? There might be a real paradigm shifting down the road.

Oh, trivia I overheard at the spot: the biggest challenge for this kind of show is booking a talent!
