ESPN360 Live Streams
ESPN360 is planning NBA games in live HD broadband streaming. They are using MOVE technology, which is also adopted by ABC. The quality of videos provided by MOVE is excellent and it is a significant step in live broadcasting over the internet.
This service would be offered to the limited number of people who subscribe this service and the cost of delivering the service would not be that cheap. Also, the delivery of videos over MOVE would not be real realtime since it would be delayed a few seconds to minutes. That means this ‘Live Streaming’ is not technically real live. Despite all the limitations, I welcome to hear that these attempts are being made and want to hear more about a new paradigm shift.
